Ms. Jackie Okao

Jackie Okao has been engaged in both Humanitarian Emergency and Development work for over ten years now, working with Local Communities, Local Institutions, Civil society Organizations, Government Institutions, International Communities, Regional and international bodies and policy makers at various levels in different countries including Uganda, Haiti, Ghana, Afghanistan, Pakistan, Liberia and now in Nigeria where she is working as the Protection and Advocacy Advisor with Norwegian Refugee Council. Her speciality has been in the areas of Policy Analysis, Advocacy and Campaigns, Capacity Building, Research, fund raising, strategy development and Communications all aimed at bringing about changes in policies, programmes and practices. Some of the core roles she has accomplished include: enhanced partnerships with other international development organisations and stakeholders; built the capacity of staff and partners to efficiently deliver quality evidence based advocacy and communications activities/campaigns; effectively managed project finances; led the implementation, planning, monitoring and reporting of strategic goals and campaigns of the organisation and provided technical lead for advocacy, communication, networking and lobbying including presenting strategic advocacy papers at different forums.
