Director of Programs
Sharon Atukunda is a Director of Programs with Advance Afrika. Since 2014 she has worked closely with the organisation in the areas of youth entrepreneurship, rehabilitation, reformation & reintegration, research & documentation and participated in institutional & capacity strengthening activities of the organisation. Sharon is a researcher, an educator and a working practitioner with over 5 years of professional experience majorly focusing in the areas of Entrepreneurship Development (SME business management), Project Planning & Management and Service Sector Management. She has worked and consulted with Makerere University Business School (MUBS), Banyan Global in conjunction with USAID, TechnoServe inc. and Kronos Consulting group. During this time, some of her achievements include, co-authoring and publishing of papers/manuscripts, development of a pipeline for potential borrowers in the private health care business within the Kampala CBD and rural areas of the country that would benefit from financing (Loans) from both the Centenary and Eco bank Uganda, technical advisory services to women entrepreneurs in the fields of record keeping, budgeting, financial management and marketing.
Sharon holds an MSc degree in Entrepreneurship from Makerere University Business School (MUBS) and has partaken various trainings and workshops including Makerere University Business School research & publication and skill development, MUBS & Syracuse University (USA)-training for Entrepreneurship Educators Programme, MUBS & FinAfrica Enterprise Development Centre-The Cisco Entrepreneurial Mindset Course, trainer of trainees, TechnoServe Inc.-women mean business training of coaches with the major aim being the need to transform lives and alleviate poverty by helping entrepreneurs build businesses that create income, opportunity and economic growth, Peer Counseling Services training. She brings a strong analytical aptitude, an ability to think logically, good problem-solving skills, excellent technical knowledge and an appreciation for teamwork.
