Irene Mukasa-Erben is a peace practitioner and social worker with over five years of working experience in the areas of peace education, dealing with the past, youth empowerment and social counselling. She has worked and studied in Germany, Lithuania, Romania, Rwanda and Uganda with organisations such as; Deutsche Gesellschaft für internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ), Never Again Rwanda, UNHCR and Life Concern Uganda, among others.

Irene holds a master’s degree in Peace and Conflict Studies from Marburg University, a bachelor’s degree and official license as social worker from the Baden-Wuerttemberg Cooperative State University as well as a certificate as Junior Professional in Systemic Consulting from the Institute for Systemic Consulting Wiesloch. She attended several trainings in the area of Do No Harm, mediation, non-violent communication, Planning Monitoring & Evaluation as well as project management of peace projects.
