Prison inmates empowered with business and life skills in Lango and Acholi sub-region.

Over 590 prison inmates from 28 prison units in Lango and Acholi sub-region have successfully completed one month training in entrepreneurship and life skills. The training which took place under the Economic Empowerment and Social Reintegration of Ex-prison inmates in northern Uganda project also aims at establishing learning and mentorship mechanisms to accompany ex-prison inmates in development and implementation of small businesses, providing business start-up kits, improving reintegration into communities and strengthening the capacities of key stakeholders. It is implemented by Advance Afrika in partnership with Uganda Prisons Service, with support from the European Union and Caritas Switzerland.
